March 14, 2017- HB 2 had it’s 5th hearing today. There were three witnesses who testified in opposition: Neil Klingshirn, representing OELA and POE, Colleen Dempsey, representing the National Association of Social Workers – Ohio Chapter, and Liz Burrell, representing Business and Professional Women. We believe the bill will be up next Tuesday with committee starting at 2:30 pm. Initially we thought this bill would be voted on quickly, but due to the great work of all of you and your organizations, the House Republicans are asking a lot of questions about the legislation. I’m attaching the two memos we have sent to the committee and our analysis and would ask if there is anyone else willing to either testify next Tuesday or send in written testimony. We also urge you to ask your memberships to call or e-mail members of the House Economic Development, Commerce and Labor Committee, and their own state representative to Vote NO on HB 2.
