LEADERSHIP REPORTS
Treasurer’s reports was approved as presented
MS agreed to be statutory agent and use his home address
MS gave his Legal/Legislative report. Reproductive rights bills were discussed
including: SB 157, and SB 27. Texas HB 8. He noted that Ohio Republicans have
introduced a bill even more extreme than the Texas law. The Supreme Court heard oral
arguments re: Mississippi Law which bans most abortions. He expects the Court to
uphold that law. Decision to be announced by the end of June. On a positive note, the
FDA permanently removed the in-person dispensing requirements for Mifepristone.
President Biden signed the new Federal Sexual Harassment Law on March 3, 2022.
Pending anti-transgender legislation was discussed. Pending bad gun laws were
discussed. Also discussed were SB 216, HB 343, HB 371, HB 390, HB 419, HB 428,
HB 496, HB 501 and HB Concepts 616. Final discussion was on Ohio Redistricting
chaos.
CC gave her Ohio NOW Report. National NOW conference will be the end of July.
New By-laws have been proposed. It seem National NOW may be trying to eliminate
State and local chapters. They are planning a rally in DC if Roe v. Wade is overturned.
There will be an ERA event in Columbus on August 6 th .

Essay writing contest was discussed. Will it be legal?
ERA CC presented an update
Meetings -Board meetings were changed to Wednesdays at 3:00pm. CC is willing to
provide zoom meetings.
Action Ohio merger (which was Phyllis’ wish) was discussed. CM was appointed chair
of a committee with MS and DD to look into the logistics. KM agreed to be treasurer if
the merger took place. If this is considered we would need a committee of both ELF and
Action Board members.
ELECTIONS
Candace Martin and Michel Coconis were elected to the board for the term ending at
the annual meeting in 2023. Slate moved by CC and seconded by KM. Passed
unanimously.
