Help Clinics

Feminist Majority Foundation - Equality around the world

Dear Diane,

Nationwide the vast majority of abortion clinics are besieged by daily or weekly protests. The hateful and violent rhetoric that is spouted outside of targeted women’s healthcare clinics creates a hostile climate where violence thrives.

If you are interested in helping embattled clinics in your community, become a Feminist First Responder! There are a number of activities you can choose from, including becoming a clinic escort, volunteering as a legal observer, and providing emergency security assistance to clinics under siege.

Check out our newly released spotlight video “Walking the Gauntlet,” which depicts the tactics employed by the anti-abortion industry to intimidate patients, staff and doctors in front of clinics.

According to our 2016 National Clinic Violence Survey the number of clinics experiencing the most severe threats and violence, including blocking access to clinics, stalking and death threats, has nearly doubled since 2014, from 19.7% of clinics to 34.2% of clinics. We’ve been doing this survey since 1993. Time and time again hateful rhetoric quickly escalates to threats. And when threats go up, violence occurs.

Check out our Campaign to Expose Anti-Abortion Violence and learn about the hostile and dangerous climate breeding outside of many of America’s women’s health centers.

Remember, without clinics, there is no choice.
